Lisa Grant
Lisa will be competing in the 76kg M1 category as well as Head Coach for the team.
Lisa had this to say on the opportunity:
“I will be competing twice in South Africa, in bench only and full power competitions as well as Head Coach for the Isle of Man Team.
Being a part of the Manx Powerlifting Association from the beginning and having an Isle of Man Team twice now on the Commonwealth international stage is an honour in itself.
I am proud to be wearing the Isle of Man singlet and helping others realise their dreams to do so too.
The Commonwealth Championship has so far been one of my favourite competitions, the camaraderie in the warm up areas between countries and the support our little team receives is special.
I hope to be able to help the team bring some medals back home with us , help the lifters reach their individual goals on the platform and more importantly ensure everyone has a positive experience they will remember forever. "
Lewis Runge
Lewis will be competing in the 93kg Junior category.
Lewis had this to say on the opportunity:
“Representing the Isle of Man is always an honour and to do it for a 3rd time is even more special, it’s an amazing experience to share the platform with the rest of the team and some of the best lifters in the world”
Teagan Lindsay
Teagan will be competing in the 52kg Sub-Junior category.
Teagan has this to say on the opportunity:
“I am absolutely thrilled to be representing the Isle of Man team for the Commonwealth for the second time. I am so excited to be able to share the platform with my mum, Kerry Lindsay as well.
I am looking forward to competing with the team, watching them as well”
Alyson Egan
Aly will be competing in the 84kg M1 category.
Aly had this to say on the opportunity:-
“I'm very excited to have been selected for the commonwealth team, its such a fantastic opportunity for the islands lifters to be on a world stage, competing with the best.
I'm looking forward to putting in a great performance for the team and being able to see my team mates smash it on the platform.
If anybody is thinking about trying powerlifting, give it a go! You won't regret it.”
Harry Morgan
Harry will be competing in the 66kg Sub-Junior category at just 15 years old.
Harry had this to say on the opportunity:-
“I’m incredibly honoured to be able to compete in South Africa this year as part of the Isle of Man team.
This will be an exciting opportunity to demonstrate my skills as a powerlifter and help promote the sport I love doing at the same time”
Cye Maddocks
Cye will be competing in the 105kg open category.
Cye had this to say on the opportunity:-
"Im very excited to be picked for the commonwealth team again and proud to wear the IOM gear.
It will be good to see how things have progressed over the past couple of years of Manx Powerlifting and the lifters!!"
Freya Weldon
Freya will be competing in the 84+ Sub Junior category at just 16 years old.
Freya had this to say on the opportunity:-
"I’m delighted to have been selected to represent the island. I’m so excited and super proud to have been given this opportunity to compete amongst the best in the sport on the other side of the world!”
Kerry Lindsay
Kerry will be competing in the 63kg M2 category.
Kerry had this to say on the opportunity:-
“I'm absolutely thrilled to be representing the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships for the second time, even more so sharing the platform with my amazing daughter Teagan. This is an exciting opportunity and I'm honoured to have been selected. We have a fantastic team and I'm looking forward to watching each of them compete.
I have been powerlifting for just over 3 years and competing for around 2 1/2 years in the masters category and I absolutely love my sport”
Kail De Los Reyes
Kail will be competing as a 66kg Open
Kail had this to say on the opportunity:-

Kerry Kelly
Kerry will be competing as an 84+ M1
Kerry had this to say on the opportunity:-
"I am so excited to be representing the Isle of Man in South Africa - it is such a privilege and a honour to be on the team.
I’ve been powerlifting for 2 and half years now but really knuckled down with the training for the last 6 months so that I can achieve a good result for the team in October!
Looking forward to competing with an amazing team of people from the Island as well as meeting some amazing athletes from the other Commonwealth countries”
Samuel Harris
Sam will be competing as an 83kg Sub-Junior
Sam had this to say on the opportunity:-
“Hi I’m Samuel Harris I’m 18 years old and I’ve been powerlifting for about 9 months although I’ve been consistently in the gym for over 2 years.
I’m looking forward to being able to represent the Isle of Man and very excited to compete at the commonwealth championships”
